Phlegm Comics
Dan (Phlegm) is a 28 year old illustrator/street artist based in Sheffield. He works predominantly in black Indian ink and a traditional dip pen.
Once every four months he produces a self published comic which acts as a constantly updated portfolio of the murals and artwork he's been producing over that time. The comic has a growing print run and is sold all over the UK and even as far as France, America and Japan. The work is a mix of cartoon style and high detail drawings, showing a nightmarish world where beauty and symmetry is balanced with darker more surreal elements.
So far this year Dan has designed t-shirts for the autumn range of Paul Smith clothing, worked with Monetrome Records to produce an animated music video for the musician Aaron Stout and he's sprayed murals balanced on rusty ladders, and hanging from ropes..... from Sheffield to the isle of man, from night club corridors to shop shutters, derelict factories, caravans, and even a Russian MiG fighter!
